I firmly believe ambient music is bad for the mental health – it has weakened the intellectual capacity of, not just composers, all people.

Musicians use it as a license for creative laziness – unfinished, uninteresting work that goes nowhere, communicates nothing.

Arguably Eno’s invention can be blamed for all the empty-headed, emptily repetitive dance music that became inexplicably popular in the early ’90s and consequently lowered people’s expectations, of music and of everything else.

The results of recent general elections can be blamed on this weakening of the intellect.
